My native city Mykolayiv is located in the southern part of our motherland. It is situated on the picturesque banks of two rivers - the Ingul and the Southern Bug. The climate of the city is moderate, with cool winters and hot summers. It attracts tourists, especially in spring and summer.
There are a lot of places of interest in Mykolayiv and it is not easy to see all of them during several days of a tourist's trip. I'll tell about my favourite sights. My family quite often attend the local museums. I'm interested in arts, so I highly recommend everyone to see numerous exhibitions in Mykolayiv Regional Art Museum named after V. Vereshchahin. The works of art there are simply amazing. We also visit Museum of Shipbuilding, Local History Museum.
Another thing I'd like to tell about is our cathedrals and churches. Most of them are architectural monuments. They preserved ornaments and wall paintings of the 19th century style. I like going to the concerts of organ music to Catholic Church of St. Joseph. There are three theatres in Mykolayiv. I liked many interesting and exciting performances there.
My friends and me often spend free time in the parks and squares. They are green and rich in fresh air. Our Zoo is the best in Eastern Europe. And you can have a good time there. The Yacht Club is the oldest sight in our city. In summer it is the most popular place of spending free time.
I'm interested in the history of my native city. I read a lot and try to get new information about it.
